You shouldn't protect every page. The concept of wikis is to allow for any user to beable to contribue, including anons. If there is too much vandalism going on, you should only temp protect a page, but applying an infinite protection on every page is just too much.

What would you recommend as a good time frame for protection? I totally agree that this whole wiki is community its just the randoms who are adding unverifiable info and making changes that go against what we have verified and received directly from the dev team. We want the info to be as accurate as possible.

A few days at most. I usually protect pages for 3 days if the vandalism gets crazy. Most people give up after that. If they are bots, you should report them in the spam section at the Gamepedia slack.

If people are adding the wrong info by accident, you should let them know by editing their IP's talk page. If they continue after that, you can temporarily block them for 24 hours, then 3 days, but no more than that (I'll take the chance and mention that you should Never block people for longer than a week).

And sorry for the spam but: You should also be careful when advertising videos. Posting a guide that's absolutely necessary in a page is fine, but posting an unofficial guide on the official wiki's front page is a big no-no.

No please don't apologize I really like that you are so open and forthcoming it has helped me out a lot! Would you recommend a page dedicated to tutorials for the guide videos? The reason why Seesharpist and myself had OKed that being up there was because we recieved it from the pinned section by the Devs so we thought it was OK.

I would recommend adding any guides to the "How to play" page. You can add a "Videos" subsection between the Tips and See Also sections: How to play guide for Memories of Mars

Also you shouldn't remove the help section, its very important for people to be able to find the guides they might need to learn how to edit the wikis. I'd recommend also fleshing out the front before removing content from it.

I am actually really glad you mentioned that because I actually meant to move it to a smaller section but was sidetracked! Thank you for pointing it out to me!!!

Just in case you missed it on the guide (you should really read it if you haven't): Admins aren't above other user. The only difference between a normal user and an admin is that they have extra tools to work with on the wiki. If any users ever have a problem, or need something only an admin can do, you should help them.

I did read the guide! Thank you for everything! Unfortunately we all run into the times when someone else is better suited at doing a particular task which was this case. Thank you for bumping him to Admin so our team can continue work!

Hi. Sorry but I can't grant you bureaucrat status. I can grant them admin rights however, just give me their name.

Hello! I've gone ahead and approved your claim. You should check the admin's guide (or any other guides on the Help wiki if you need them): https://help.gamepedia.com/Administrators_guide

If you have questions you can either leave me a message on my profile/talk page or you can go to our official Slack server (its kind of like Discord, you don't need to install anything) where editors from all over Gamepedia get together to chat or help each other. https://www.gamepedia.com/slackinvite
